Mexico Yucatan Peninsula blue crab – dipnet/pot/trap
It is an artisanal fishery which includes areas from the Mexican states of Campeche, Tabasco & Yucatan representing. 14% of blue crab catches in Mexico. 70% of the suppliers catches are from Sabancuy and Isla Aguada, Campeche where Callinectes sapidus predominates.

It is a multispecific sequencial fishery, participation of around 12,000 fishermen. As a result of FIP Collaboration the Census of vessels is being developed by local government, improvement in elementary education incorporating fisheries sustainability, collaboriation between stakeholders & government. Much to do in regard of illegal fishing.
